“There are a few odd situations you can find yourself in when living in the city, especially when meeting up with people.
In this case, all we know is that it involves musical theatre and that it starts in a bar...
The title touches on human emotions and realities.
Let’s just see what happens!
The risks and side effects are manageable…”

Manos Tsangaris, composer

Love & Diversity is a miniature music theatre piece, staged as a spatial installation, by the composer Manos Tsangaris, in which the audience is invited to move around the Akademie building on Hanseatenweg and to embrace the unknown, such as love. Premiered in Thessaloniki in 2012, it has been performed internationally numerous times since then and is being restaged for the Hanseatenweg with an ensemble put together especially for the occasion.

The work belongs to the multifaceted genre of music theatre, which Tsangaris has developed – almost to the point of its dissolution – into a unique experience for the eyes and ears. Surprises, absurdities, the inversion of reality and humour arise from sharply crafted scenic encounters. It is not uncommon for the audience to find themselves alone facing these small scenes.

The performance pays tribute to the work of the composer and President of the Akademie der Künste, Manos Tsangaris, on the occasion of his 70th birthday.
