On 25 March 2026, the writer and filmmaker Alexander Kluge died in Munich at the age of 94. The Akademie der Künste is dedicating an evening to the multifaceted oeuvre of its long-standing member as part of its autumn general meeting. Alexander Kluge’s critical thinking is expressed in many different ways: in texts, films, television interviews, exhibitions and much more.

Friends and colleagues will speak about their collaboration with Alexander Kluge, his methods and perspectives, including Annett Gröschner, Alexander Horwath, Jeanine Meerapfel, Kathrin Röggla, Christian Schulte, Sir Henry, Ulrike Sprenger, Asmus Trautsch, Anna Viebrock and Jan Wenzel. Akademie President Manos Tsangaris gives a welcome address. Film clips, music and readings will round off the programme.
