George Maciunas’s musical scoring systems made between 1960 and 1962 are the definitive “do-it-yourself” compositions. Take a grid form, fill in the sounds to be made and their durational values and, et voila … avant-garde music.

But the implied simplicity of these scores is deceptive. The pieces are played by Anton Lukoszevieze, a cellist, composer and visual artist. He is also the founder and director of the experimental music group “Apartment House”.
