John Cage’s Musicircus in Bonn (1979) and Berlin-Prenzlauer Berg (1990)

In 1979, Walter Zimmermann and the Beginner Studio staged John Cage’s Musicircus in Bonn with musicians from various scenes and a select audience. However, the 90-minute WDR recording was never broadcast.

A 30-minute version can be heard, accompanied by projections of photographs by Guido Conen. This is followed by a discussion of the work and recollections of Cage’s first visit to East Berlin in 1990.
