On the occasion of the 100th birthday of Ursula Mamlok (1923-2016), the Academy Archives are showing the film Ursula Mamlok Movements by Anne Berrini, which was shot during the composer’s lifetime and with her participation. Having emigrated from Germany in 1939, Ursula Mamlok managed to gain a musical foothold in New York. She received many awards and worked as a professor of composition for a long time. At the end of her life, she returned to her native city of Berlin.
