“The film explores a period of Prussian history, focusing on Friedrich II and his brother Heinrich, who left their mark on the architecture and landscape in and around the small town of Rheinsberg in the Mark Brandenburg. The past and the present are interwoven through conversations with residents of Rheinsberg, castle staff and construction workers, their comments on history, their understanding of heritage conservation and the culture of remembrance, and the building work carried out in 1981 and 1982.”
