Many areas of Berlin’s cultural life are currently under increasing pressure. The cultural policy decisions taken during the coming legislative period will therefore help determine the role that art and culture will play in this city in the future.

This discussion is intended as a public forum for a fundamental debate on cultural policy. The leading candidates have been invited because cultural policy is not merely a matter for individual departments, but concerns political responsibility for the city as a whole.

The focus will be on the future of Berlin’s cultural landscape, prospects for the independent scene and institutions, and fair working conditions for artists.

The event will be streamed live at www.literaturkanal.tv.
