Kurt Jung-Alsen (1915–1976) worked as an actor, theatre director, and artistic director. From the 1950s onwards, he made films, including numerous literary adaptations, for television and cinema in the GDR. At the same time, Jung-Alsen, an art connoisseur and outstanding bibliophile, built up a collection of graphic art and an exquisite library on literature and art in the first third of the 20th century. In 1975, the Akademie der Künste of the GDR acquired Kurt Jung-Alsen's library.

On the occasion of the upcoming 50th memorial of Kurt Jung-Alsen's death, there will be a presentation of selected books from his library, some of which bear dedications, along with a tour behind the scenes. Legendary expressionist magazines, key works of Dadaism, and Bauhaus publications will be on display.
