He was a maverick and part of the Prenzlauer Berg subculture: Bert Papenfuß (1956–2023) – poet, musician, artist and pub owner. His close contacts with the art scene led to the creation of special book projects from the 1980s onwards, mostly small-run editions that have been preserved in his private library. These artist's books form a unique symbiosis of text and image and represent an independent, varied art form.

On 11 January 2026, Bert Papenfuß would have turned 70. A presentation followed by a guided tour of the magazine will provide exclusive insights into the collection of artist's books and commemorate Papenfuß, the ‘language player’.
