Muna Mutasim is a Sudanese multidisciplinary artist working across installation, fashion, symbolic figures, and participatory practice. Her work explores the relationship between lived experience and collective memory, examining how personal and collective histories are carried, transformed, and reimagined through people, objects, and everyday rituals.
Recent projects include “Essence of Home”, an installation bringing together personal histories, domestic objects, and traditional Sudanese forms, and “Jowana” (جوانا), an evolving participatory artistic framework that uses life mapping, reflection, and symbolic figures to explore how experiences of transition and change shape identity, influence our responses, and deepen the understanding of the stories carried within.
