A key objective of the Akademie der Künste, particularly its KUNSTWELTEN cultural outreach programme, is to create inclusive offers for children, young people and adults.
Guided tours are offered for visually impaired and blind visitors both in the Akademie’s Picture Cellar and in temporary exhibitions. In cooperation with the Allgemeiner Blinden- und Sehbehindertenverein Berlin (ABSV, General Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired in Berlin), guided tours are offered in tandem, using tactile models and other tools.
In addition, there are guided tours with translation into German Sign Language (DGS). Another important focus is on artistic workshops for schoolchildren with disabilities.
Information on accessibility and barrier-free facilities at the Akademie’s respective locations can be found on the following pages:
Disabled visitors and their accompanying attendant (with proper ID or authorisation) receive free admission to exhibitions and events. Further information on reductions and free admission is also available in the Akademie der Künste’s Price Table.
