Villa Serpentara Fellowship
The JUNGE AKADEMIE sends four Berlin-based artists to Villa Serpentara in Olevano Romano (Italy) every year for a three-month residency. Juries of members from all the Art Sections at the Akademie der Künste select the artists, who are mentored on-site by the JUNGE AKADEMIE and the Villa Massimo, the German Academy in Rome. Applicants may not apply on their own initiative.

Their work is presented at Villa Serpentara, built in the early 20th century at the behest of sculptor Heinrich Gerhardt, who bequeathed it to the Akademie der Künste in 1914.
The fellows’ work is also presented in exhibitions and events organised by Casa Baldi in Olevano Romano and the Villa Massimo in Rome.
