Lettres noires.
African Literature Today

Reading and Talk

Today From a European perspective, Africa is still viewed as a close, and yet foreign continent. Even its literature is only gradually receiving recognition for its great variety and importance. In SINN UND FORM, 1/2017, Alain Mabanckou, born in the Congo and the recipient of many awards for his novels and volumes of lyric poetry written in French, takes a tour d’horizon through the history and present state of African literature. He speaks with Markus Meßling from the Centre Marc Bloch about new discoveries and colonial myths. Moderation: Matthias Weichelt. In cooperation with the Institut français Germany.
