There is a new desire for more co-determination in producing theatre. Actors and actresses want to be involved as equals in the artistic processes. Those who were around in the 1970s tell us that this attempt failed at that time. The artistic directors say that the existing system offers enough leeway. “We're already doing this”, the independents respond. And what does politics have to say?
