Berlin Fellowship

The Berlin Fellowship is an artist-in-residence programme and work fellowship that supports young international artists from each of the Akademie der Künste’s Art Sections. Every year, a jury of Akademie members nominates two candidates per Section. Applicants may not apply on their own initiative.

The interdisciplinary programme begins in the autumn in conjunction with the General Assembly of Akademie der Künste members. It offers artists the opportunity to network with members and partners of the Akademie, to engage in creative exchange in an interdisciplinary context, and develop and present artistic projects through exhibitions, readings, performances, workshops and open studios.

The studios are located in the Akademie building on Hanseatenweg and are available for both work and accommodation. In addition, there is another guest studio at the Künstlerhaus Bethanien in the Berlin-Kreuzberg district.

The fellows receive a grant of 5,000 euros, 3,000 euros project funding and a travel budget.
