Language was "cautiously avoided" in Oskar Schlemmer's pioneering Bauhaus stage workshop, "not to de-emphasize it but, conscious of its significance, to master it slowly." A century later, in collaboration with Alva Noto and Sandra Hüller, Richard Siegal's TXTORRENT finds inspiration in Schlemmer ever-relevant challenge to "approach the human word 'unliterarily,' in its primary state, as a happening, as if it were being heard for the first time..." (Oskar Schlemmer, 1927)
