Repairing the University
Shortly after Nigeria gained independence, the University of Ife was founded in 1961. Bauhaus student Arieh Sharon was commissioned to design the building, and together with Nigerian architects such as A. A. Egbor, he created a unique architectural ensemble of postcolonial tropical modernism. Today, the Conservation Management Plan by Brenne Architects represents an important step towards the preservation of the campus and its recognition as a World Heritage Site.
