The 63rd General Assembly of the Akademie der Künste is being held from 8 to 10 November. It is the first General Assembly under the leadership of Manos Tsangaris and Anh-Linh Ngo, who were elected last May as President and Vice-President. On the agenda of the conference, which is not open to the public, are reports, introductions of members and working groups.

On the Saturday evening of its General Assembly, the Akademie der Künste will bring together artistic works of historical and contemporary relevance in a public event. The event will take place on the historically significant date of November 9th. Emmanuelle Bernard (violin) and Clemens Hund-Göschel (piano) will perform Arnold Schönberg’s Phantasy for Violin and Piano Op. 47. They will play Ursula Mamlok’s Panta Rhei (Time in Flux) with Constance Ricardo (cello). Both composers went into exile in the United States in the 1930s. Kioomars Musayyebi adds two solo sets with classical Persian music and his own compositions. Steffen Mensching reads selected texts on 1938 and 1989.

The Akademie der Künste has 433 members in its six sections. Current exhibitions taking place at its Pariser Platz and Hanseatenweg locations are “Candida Höfer. Käthe Kollwitz Prize 2024” and “draw love build / sauerbruch hutton tracing modernities”. More information at adk.de
