The Akademie der Künste Introduces Its Fellows
Programme Night on 29 April and AGORA ARTES Works Show until 14 May
PLENUM of the 2017 Fellows on 4 May
Over the next three weeks the JUNGE AKADEMIE (Young Academy) is bringing together 25 international artists in all fields of the arts for internal meetings and public events.
The Programme Night on 29 April launches AGORA ARTES, the work presentations of the previous year’s fellows. This diverse programme encompasses a dance piece, discussions, performances, readings, video projections and sound installations, including a large percentage of collaborative teamwork. The works shown were predominantly created during the fellows’ studio residencies in Berlin. The AGORA ARTES exhibition is on view until mid-May.
On 4 May, in a public PLENUM, the spotlight will turn to this year’s fellows. They come from the Congo, China, Germany, Iraq, Mexico and Hungary. Short presentations will provide first insights into their works.
As a forum that thrives on a continuous involvement with and assessment of new developments in art, the JUNGE AKADEMIE is a central component of the Akademie der Künste. The Akademie supports and promotes young artists from around the world and uses its fellowship programmes to integrate them into the institution, and to establish contacts with its members and projects. The fellows are chosen by members from all six art sections represented at the Akademie der Künste.
