Gerhard Kettner
The Dresden draughtsman, graphic artist, and professor Gerhard Kettner explored the traces of life in his impressive self-portraits. Looking at his works, it becomes clear that he is interested in all variations of the standing, walking and being of the human before him. The drawings let us “experience something of the uniqueness of the individual human being and his perception. Right up to the end, [...] it is the bodies and faces of people that are of lasting interest both as an occasion for drawing and for contemplation in a double sense.” (Anke Fröhlich-Schauseil, 2018)
