Members of the Sorryyoufeeluncomfortable art collective will lead a group reading and discussion of excerpts of Saidiya Hartman’s Scenes of Subjection: Terror, Slavery, and Self-Making in Nineteenth-Century America, exploring blackness, performativity and contemporary afro-diasporic subjectivities. This workshop will also include a short screening of a visual essay by Rabz Lansiquot.
