Nikita Dhawan

Nikita Dhawan is an Indian academic and Professor of Political Science (Political Theory and Gender Studies) at the University of Innsbruck. From 2009 to 2016, she was Director of the Frankfurt Research Center for Postcolonial Studies at the University of Frankfurt. Her central research areas centre around Transnational Feminism, Global Justice, Human Rights, Democracy and Decolonization. Recent publications include: Postcolonial Theory: A Critical Introduction (together with Maria do Mar Castro Varela, 2015); Negotiating Normativity: Postcolonial Appropriations, Contestations and Transformations (2016).
