Makau Mutua is a SUNY Distinguished Professor and the Floyd H. and Hilda L. Hurst Faculty Scholar at the University at Buffalo School of Law, where he served as dean from 2008 to 2014. He lectures on Human Rights, International Law, and International Business Transactions and is the author of several books including Human Rights Standards: Hegemony, Law, and Politics (2016), Human Rights NGOs in East Africa: Political and Normative Tensions (2008) and Human Rights: A Political and Cultural Critique (2002).
