What kind of times are these? – Brecht, Grosz and Piscator
The exhibition is dedicated to the collaboration between Bertolt Brecht, George Grosz and Erwin Piscator, i. a. in the production of The Good Soldier Švejk at the Piscatorbühne in 1928. The performance made theatre history and led to one of the biggest art trials of the Weimar period.
For the first time ever, numerous Schwejk drawings by Grosz, which were recently acquired by the Akademie with the support of Kulturstiftung der Länder, will be presented.
