Hede Bühl
The human body and sculpture's fundamental questions about volume, materiality and spatial experience are the artistic themes of the sculptor and draftswoman Hede Bühl. In addition to standing and sitting full-body figures, the artist concentrates on head sculptures made of stone, bronze, aluminium, lead or plastic. Bühl reduces the body to simple forms accentuated with curvatures, bands and clasps. These stand pars pro toto for human existence, which eludes clear definition.
