The biographies of artists who were forced to flee during National Socialism are characterised by persecution and farewell, by a lack of place, and speechlessness. What experiences do they have on the run and in the countries of exile? Is it possible to create art in a foreign country? Christoph Gawenda and Anja Schneider read from letters, works and diary entries by artists in exile whose archives are held at the Akademie der Künste.
