Blechen’s Comeback
For over 70 years, two oil sketches by the Berlin landscape painter Carl Blechen (1798-1840) were considered lost. In 2019, the Akademie der Künste succeeded in reacquiring them from private ownership. In the exhibition Provenance Research, the works Mühlental bei Amalfi and Tiberiusfelsen auf Capri will be presented to the public for the first time.
In the presence of the sponsors, the Cultural Foundation of the German Federal States (Kulturstiftung der Länder) and the Ernst von Siemens Kunststiftung, their special story will be told.
